We are a book discussion group for women in the Lakeway and Bee Cave area. We meet monthly to discuss the group's selection (always open to suggestion). Our goal is to broaden our literary horizons, share thoughtful conversation, and inspire lasting friendships.
Join other 20- & 30-something ladies for a monthly brunch meet up to discuss the book of the month! Membership is currently full but may open up again soon! I started this group because I'm new to the Austin area, love to read and other book clubs I wanted to join were already full. This book club is perfect for women in their 20s and 30s north of Austin, including Cedar Park, Round Rock and Georgetown. The book club will meet once a month for a Sunday brunch to discuss that month's book. We m …

… What About The Books? The books will be easy and fun. Modern fantasy, science fiction, horror, mystery, light literature, mild chick lit, and things of that sort. No heavy Russians as it would take me about three months to get through them with my current life. How Does This Work? There will be a new book discussion on the third Thursday of every month (give or take a few days). Hosting duties will cycle through the members and the host is responsible for picking the book, the theme of the ni …
I retired early to enjoy life after an all-consuming career, and have been looking for new friends who share the same interests. I love to read, and I love good wine! Do you? Let's get together to discuss a monthly book selection, drink some wine, and enjoy each others' company.

Blackberri Cafe Single Lesbians Book Club is a book club for a unique group of women – designed for single lesbian women who enjoy reading literary fiction, nonfiction (i.e. history, politics, pop culture, memoirs), and whatever else the group agrees to read and discuss. Why single lesbians? Well, why not? Our aim is not to exclude, but single lesbian women in Austin rarely get a chance to fellowship and discover shared interests and experiences with other single lesbians. Plus it's very difficu …
If you love great books, talking about great books and authors, and sharing and learning about new authors over good coffee, good food & good wine- this is the meetup group for you! I know there are plenty of book clubs in Austin, am in fact a member & event organizer of a great one already, and it inspired me to start another book club for Austin Women! I'm hoping to have a one Saturday afternoon a month meetup about the book voted on, and maybe throw in a few extra meetups a month just for fun …
An Austin book club that brings together a group of people who enjoy fantasy and science fiction books, movies, and television...but mostly books. The subject matter is chosen democratically by the group. No, Harry Potter is not fantasy...we're talking mostly Tolkien, George R. R. Martin, and the like.
I moved from Dallas to Austin about five months ago. I ran four separate book clubs while living in Dallas and amongst alot of other things, I miss my book club peeps. The great conversations, some friendships and so much laughter. Please join me in my new adventure if you have a GREAT sense of humor, love books off the beaten path (but sometimes on) and can commit to reading one book a month.
As a newbie to Austin who needs to make some new girlfriends, I thought that creating a group that mixes my love for reading AND my love for good food was a win. It's not only a great way to meet new friends but also a surefire way to get to know some local eateries too! To get an idea of the sorts of books we'll read I would say that most of it will be contemporary fiction, although I'm open! Personally, I read mostly fiction and quite a lot of YA, especially fantasy/sci-fi.

ATTENTION WRITERS: No Meetups will be scheduled this summer. We will resume in the fall. Each month we read and discuss a book devoted to the craft of writing. "Do I have to read the book?" Although technically not required, it is preferred. Although the discussion can move off onto tangents, the focus will be primarily on the contents of the book. However, if you do not have time to read the entire book, reading SOME of it is perfectly acceptable. Even digesting a few o …
This group is called Misty Curious because I'm posting events that I am curious about. We will have speakers or discussions on a myriad of topics: Investing, Health, Sexuality, Wealth, Cooking, Relationships, Femininity & Masculinity, Books, etc. My curiosities grow everyday, so you'll never know what to expect... Just expect it to be deep and thought provoking!

… We will start by reading "Writing True: The Art and Craft of Creative Nonfiction" by Sondra Perl and Mimi Schwartz and pull from other books about great fiction or non-fiction approaches to writing creatively. Participants can also bring their writing to be workshopped, either receiving general comments or asking for more specific feedback as preferred.
I've studied Buddhism since 2002. I don't follow a set path, but have found wisdom in everything I've been exposed to. I'd like to find more wisdom from actual interaction and discussion with others. My first idea is to explore the book "Hardcore Zen" by Brad Warner. This punk rock musician turned Buddhist priest presents Buddhism using modern icons, recent history, and very down to earth symbolism to explain some of the most complex concepts of Buddhism in a very easy to,understand manner.
Unfortunately, right now our club is full. Please check back in a few months if still interested. We like to keep it small so meaningful discussion can take place. So, at this time, no pendings are being accepted. Thank you.

… Before I get into some background and go off on my long description (hehe), I will abbreviate my "description" for this group: This is intended to be an open forum and *community* in which any person (whether he/she is very familiar with Conversations with God, or has never read any of the books) may come to study and discuss the content of these books directly, and also come and expand on the content with personal experiences; unique ideas; and additional teachings from relevant subjects which …

Welcome to a wonderful book club dedicated to learning, growing and sharing about the parenting adventure. Hosted by Lisa Smith and Hawthorne Montessori School. Open to all interested parents in the Austin area. We will meet once a month and discuss a different book or article relating to parenting. It's a great way to build your community and support in your effort to be the best parent you can be.
Update: My husband and I are going to live abroad for several months. However, we are still keeping bookclub active. Emily and Cari C. are the co-coordinators for the club in my absence. And, since I won't be here to collect money personally, I'm setting up a $1 a month dues system so that I can continue to pay the meetup.com fees. I just moved to Round Rock/Austin and left all of my girlfriends and my book club behind in Columbia, Missouri. So, I wanted to start a new book club here. We'll m …
