"Calling all women who have a love for reading, a love for self and professional development, and a love for networking with other women! This group meets once a month (usually on first Saturdays) to discuss a book focused on business principles, women in business, leadership, etc. The goal of the group is to empower women to go to the next level in their careers and lives through reading, discussion, and networking."
I've been part of an awesome women's book club in Augusta, GA for the past few years, but now that I live in Aiken, SC I find it so hard to make it to those meetings - they can be up to an hour away and that's really tough to do on a school night. So, I'm hoping to create something similar here in Aiken!

I believe that a few of the elements of a happy life are friends, good books, and a little pampering. As a new to the area massage therapist I thought a book club would be a great place to meet people. But why stop there? If you could go out to meet your book club and have the option to get a foot massage and learn about the latest in health, wellness, beauty and other goodies while you chat about good reads wouldn't that me more fun? I mean you can read at home, but pampering calls for reinforc …

Our mission is to support one another and fellows hip with others who share a common entity; reading. We don't have a particular genre that we stick to because we want to expose ourselves to as much as we possibly can and we feel that the more variety we have, the more we learn. We do, however, read book written primarily by and about African American's and others of African decent but are open to reading almost anything. Our BC is primarily women but it is also open to men.
"Reading for Enrichment, Enlightenment & Entertainment "The purpose of the group is to allow people to come together to experience and share the joy of reading through both books and audio books.
Who doesn't love a great book and a great glass of wine? Anyone who loves meeting new people, reading and discussing fiction, and socializing over a few drinks - this is the group for you! This is more of a reader's club than a book club. Instead of reading the same book and discussing it, members talk about books they have read. You can also bring books to trade or lend. We hope to also have trips to hear favorite authors and attend events. Given that gore, romance, erotica, and adult topics may be discussed, we don't recommend bringing children.

I started this group to gauge interest in a women's book club for the Lexington area. The club would follow a typical book club format. The group would agree on a book to read each month (majority rules) and then meet at a local restaurant to discuss the book and socialize. No dues yet, so please join if you are interested!

The Bible is a single-volume collection of several historical texts that were composed over a period of many hundreds of years. The collection as a whole (or certain subsets thereof) is considered by Jews and Christians to be sacred, thus making it difficult to have a discussion of the Bible with many who are already familiar with it. This group is for those who wish to take an unbiased, secular approach to these texts. In a traditional Bible study, the purpose is to discover God's word through …
This is Katherine's original vision for this club: "Here's my vision of a great book club: a smallish and diverse group of intellectually active women who can commit to reading a book a month (more or less) and making time to get together to discuss. I see the books being a mix of fiction and non-fiction - from classics to bestsellers, including some serious works and the occasional fluff piece. We do one book-related meetup a month and will occasionally have a social-only meetup. All are welcom …

We are new to West Ashley and have had trouble finding a book discussion group for newcomer couples over 55 so we decided to try forming one. We are transplants from MN in our early 60's and want to find 6 to 8 couples who are avid readers like ourselves and will read and discuss a wide range of authors of both fiction and non-fiction. I think 2 meetings per month would be good unless that proves to be too often.
A Monthly TED get together with simple rules: 1) We watch, together, a 15-20 minute TED video. (or 2 shorter videos) 2) We discuss the video, with the following rules: You have 1 minute to speak about your take on the video- Replies & Responses must be under 45 seconds. This is to keep 1-2 people from monopolizing the conversation. 3) Anyone making personal attacks will be dis-invited from future TED Watchers meet-ups. 4) Snacks to share are welcome.

The purpose of the Charlotte Friendship group is for positive, uplifting, and fun people to come together for entertainment, growth, and to build lasting bonds. I have been involved in a handful of meetups, but I never found any meetup that fit my needs as something that could be both fun and inspiring, help others to greatness but not take the meetup too seriously. This meetup is based on adding to lives that are already great. We focus on letting loose (in a grown folks sort of way), uplifting …

“ The books that help you most are those which make you think the most. While our focus is on African-American Literature, we are open to reading it all and promise a lively discussion no matter …
