We brought our group to Meetup.com in April 2010, but we actually began our monthly book discussions in September 2009. We have been having our meetings the first Wednesday evening of every month, 7pm at Red Hook Coffee & Tea (765 S 4th St - between Fitzwater & Catharine in Queen Village). The meetings generally go no later than 9pm. We are casual and enthusiastic; our members enjoy reading and collectively choosing and discussing books on a monthly basis. We take turns selecting the books …
Great Books promotes reading, thinking, and the exchange of ideas through the “shared inquiry” method. SHARED INQUIRY Great Books uses a method called "shared inquiry", which is a discussion process that enables participants who have carefully read the same work to help each other explore and understand the work. A leader provides questions that challenge the participants to think for themselves. The conversation allows participants to share their perspectives and respond to the interpretation …

We will read and discuss a different novel. We can also discuss lore, legend and non-fiction as well. I'd like to kick off our inaugural meeting with a meet and greet. Please post your suggestions for what book you would like to read. We'll pick the top three and at our first meeting we'll vote on which book we'll read and plan to meet the …

Our group is for women entrepreneurs, women business owners and women executives to connect with each other and share inspiration, insight and innovative ideas we can put into practice in our own businesses. As a former Southerner now living in Philadelphia, but increasingly feeling a call back to my Southern heritage, I am interested in started a book club that focuses solely on literature of the South, typically Southern authors. I will be honest, I've never beed in a book club before so if there is anyone who is interested in joining me, please know that we will be figuring out how to make the group work as we go along. Flexible in terms of frequency of meeting, whether we combine it with f …

I know what you’re probably thinking, “Not another book club!” To that I say no, this is not your typical book club. The ‘Black Diamonds Book Club’ is a book club for black women who want to be encouraged, enlightened and inspired. Our focus is strictly on reading non-fiction/self-help and inspiration books and we'll get together monthly to share the valuable insights we’ve learned from each book and how we feel our selection has impacted us. This is a great opportunity to develop new friendship …

I couldn't seem to find a book club that was close by, read good books AND had room for me. So I am starting this one in hopes that other people have had the same problem and want to help create a great book club! This book club is for men and women of all ages. We read all types of books and we are open to all suggestions. We meet on Wednesday evenings at the Wegman's upstairs cafe on Route 70. Some of us come early and grab a bite to eat first. You'll see us with that month's book on the ta …

My friends & I had a Chick Lit Book Club in NYC and it was so much fun! Think Jennifer Weiner, Emily Giffin, Sophie Kinsella, to name a few. Hoping to get one started in Philly! This Meetup will be meeting on the first Wednesday each month.

Hello! I've been looking for a book club for some time now and recently stumbled across the Forever Young Adult website. Check it out: (http://www.foreveryoungadult.com/a
bout/) The whole concept was absolutely perfect, if only there was a South Jersey club...
I'm hoping this group will fill the void. If you're like me, an adult, who happens to love reading young adult fiction (I know there are others out there), join the group, and let's get reading.
I enjoyed a wonderful meeting of The South Jersey Book Club, but the group is in Cherry Hill and it was a bit of a drive for me. I thought there must be some people who'd like to be part of a book club that meets in Gloucester County, so I decided to create one and see what happens.
