This Book Club is exclusively for current or former members of Moms Meetup of Central Oregon (MMOCO). Each month Book Club members take turns suggesting book titles for the members to read as a group. The member whose book suggestion is chosen to read that month hosts the Meetup to discuss the book at either her home or a public venue on the second Monday evening of the following month (though we can vote to change this date on a monthly basis as needed). This is an excellent way for members to …
New to town? Too much free time on your hands? Like to read? Like to be social? This group is somewhat of a mishmash, but the idea is to have monthly book club meetings as well as social events. There aren't really any kind of general purpose meetup groups in Eugene, so in addition to book discussions I'd like to also be a bit more of a general purpose social group for those new to town or looking to get out and meet people. We try to do a wide range of events to accomodate varying interests. …

Learning to lucid dream, astral project, or have an out of body experience requires work and practice in the real world. I have personally had many lucid dreams, and have even had an incredible out of body experience. I know others that have seen/predicted the future in their dreams with amazing accuracy and detail. For decades I have read about people with money (grants) performing lucid dream experiments in labs with high tech equipment and often thought how cool it would be to get involv …

Let's get together and bring our charts and our favorite study materials to help us better understand astrology and its effects on us! This group's focus is mostly around studying, reading, sharing and comparing charts, books and other information used to better understand astrology and its concepts. Those joining this group should have some base of knowledge, although I encourage those who still consider themselves "beginners" to definitely come and be a part of! This is not a group focused on …

This book club meets once a month to discuss sci-fi or fantasy books voted on by members. There is an extensive menu of food and drink, and it is possible to eat before or during the meeting.

Wine country is amazing, but we were lacking a book club which fueled me with the idea to start a casual monthly book club. We are a small group who enjoys good books, great restaurants, and even better conversation. Each month, a different member "hosts" the meeting. It is up to that person to choose our book, the restaurant to meet at, and lead our discussion. Any book is fair game (we have read mysteries, historical fiction, memoirs, and much more to come) and any restaurant is open to us …
This group is to connect women who want to get to know each other while discussing newspaper articles and other things we care about. This is like a book club, but instead we discuss articles from online newspapers or magazines. Members/visitors can suggest articles and share links to articles by posting on our page or under "discussions." Then, a few days before each meeting, members will receive an email with links to the online articles that we will discuss for the next meeting. We meet 1-2 …

It's one thing to study the Law of Attraction by reading books, listening to CDs, and attending lectures but it's another to put what you have learned into practice. How do you make that transition from holder of knowledge to being a successful manifester and life changer? You can join "Living" LOA where we are about incorporating the Law of Attraction into our daily lives to uplift energy, spirit, health, and our dreams. To accomplish this, the majority of our activities are geared toward int …
I enjoy reading, and honestly, I need to make more friends in Portland. (Really, who doesn't? Couldn't we all use more friends? and books to read? Anyway...) My plan for this group is to host one meet-up a month where we will get together to discuss that month's book, and enjoy some food. The first couple will probably be held at a public venue, but I am hopeful to host out of my apartment after I get settled a bit in this role as group leader. I will post other activities as meetups during t …
This is a women's group for discussion and preparing action plans for what I like to call "everyday preparedness" or "practical preparedness". Any ladies are welcome (you don't need to be a mom). No experience? No problem! Discussion topics will be similar to those found in CERT training, and books like "Just In Case" by Kathy Harrison, and "Survival Mom" by Lisa Bedford. We will not be debating or discussing the likelihood of doomsday scenarios. Example topics for discussion are: water storage, …

In a nutshell, this meetup is about helping people create community and learn about fundraising. We will cover topics such as Get …

If you are an avid mystery reader, this group is for you. Let's pick the best books--from cozies to capers, police procedurals to noir, series books or stand-alones--and get together to talk about them. What made the book work (or not) for you? We'll meet once a month to discuss the current book and pick the next two. I love British mysteries, but am constantly beguiled by books that don't fall into that category and seem to come at me out of the blue. You never know when you're going to come ac …

Why is this not your average women's book club? 1. We are going to read fun intelligent books that probably won't be on Oprah's list. 2. We are going to meet up in bars and pubs (in the Beavertonish area) instead of living rooms and coffee shops. 3. You don't have to be a big reader, just read a few pages so you can discuss. You will never feel bad for not finishing the book here! 4. Last but not least we wont take ourselves to seriously. This is about meeting new friends and having a good time. …
With the press of clinical work, broader intellectual needs of mental health clinicians can go wanting. But clinical fields are hardly the only—one could easily argue not even the strongest—avenue to understanding lives. Many scientific and scholarly disciplines study, and shed light on, human nature, suffering and well-being, and conditions that make for better and worse lives. This study group explores the work of such disciplines. This is not a book club. We will devote to each topic we addre …

I can't get enough of the tarot “treasure house of images”. I can't help buying books about the tarot. My reading would be more satisfying if I had others to discuss them with. Let’s meet up to discuss some of our favorite tarot writing, both fiction and non-fiction. FOOL The wise man hears of the Gate and studies the lock every day. The devotee hears of the Gate and tries to squeeze between the bars. The fool hears of the Gate and laughs. Without laughter the Gate would never open. Rachel Po …
