At Classics and Cocktails, we read and discuss one classic per month and have a drink (or more if you want) or enjoy some great food at a local restaurant. We do ask that you have at least one drink and/or an appetizer/meal so we can continue to secure a secluded setting for our discussion. Come join us for conversation, cocktails, and …

Want a consistent forum where to discuss the books you're reading all while you make new friends? If you answered "yes" to at least 2 out the 3 questions, then you must stop by at one of our meetups. I recently moved to Bay Ridge and would like to get a book discussion group going. The purpose of the group would be to get together and discuss a book in a casual and relaxed setting. Input from the group would decide which books will be read. When I see if there is any reponse I will come up with a more solid plan. Let's get together and read, talk and hopefully laugh! You certainly don't have to live in Bay Ridge to be a member.
Meet other local readers to read and discuss the great classics of literature. We will read and ponder "great" books but will not limit ourselves to those in the "canon".
On the Third Thursday of every month, at 7:00 P.M. we meet at the public library in Watchung, New Jersey to either view and discuss a pertinent film or book involving various social justice themes. Past and future themes include the environment, health care, education, politics, the economy, religion, and international affairs. All sides of each topic are welcome.
Tired of stuffy library book clubs? Get together at a local restaurant (that's where the one drink minimum comes into play, though any menu item would do) to discuss this month's book. Fiction or non-fiction, paperback or hardcover, you'll read a new book every month. Come to laugh, learn, share stories and make new friends!
Rob and I decided to start this group to help individuals find like minded people to develop spiritually. We plan to read books by such authors as Eckhart Tolle, Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, and Deepak Chopra. We will read a chapter during the week and discuss what we have read during our time together. Our intention is that we can learn more about ourselves and take what we learn to dismantle old beliefs patterns and perceptions that are not serving us and develop new ones that do. Love in …
This is a group for anyone who enjoys reading books on personal improvement and spirituality, but too often has no one to discuss them with! Sometimes sharing these ideas with other like-minded seekers is the only way to truly manifest them in your life and to bring about positive change. I am interested in a broad range of topics: christianity, buddhism, self-improvement (Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and others like them), meditation, health and wellness, journaling for healing, etc., etc., as wel …

… It is our desire that, through these discussions, we are able to look deeply at our inner nature and accept the truth of what we’d rather not see so that we can heal our relationships with ourselves and one another. We want to learn how to intervene in a way that challenges and changes. Finally, it is our hope that these discussions expand our knowledge and develop our skills so that we can work towards a more equitable and just community and world. Who should join this group?
