The purpose of this group is to bring young women ages 20-35 together to form meaningful friendships and to discuss current issues of institutional sexism. I am new to Ann Arbor, and I am looking for a group of female friends with which to engage in conversation, share stories, and just have fun. As a woman who has always been affected by insecurity and lack of empowerment, I think it is important to push back against a culture that often values sexuality in a woman over intelligence. One of the …

This is a group for anyone interested in the oeuvre of Vladimir Nabokov. The group will ideally focus on Nabokov's poems, prose, and translations. We will begin with shorter works and hopefully work our way up to his novels. Russian language enthusiasts are very welcome, but the group's focus will be works written originally in English or translated into English. I started this group because Nabokov is a master of style and language; moreover, Nabokov's works are all full of very interesting …

Hi, thanks for stopping by! I started this group out of my interest in Positive Psychology, meditation, mindfulness, flow, resilience, optimism and related applications to health, relationships, business, parenting, education and personal growth. An interesting aside is that several current and former faculty at The University of Michigan have been instrumental in the development of Positive Psychology. I'd like to do things like a Positive Psychology book discussion, have informal chats, inv …

We're a bunch of geeks. We watch movies. We also read books, eat, and make fun of said movies. We try to be equal-opportunity geeks, so if you have an interest - please feel free to suggest a meetup. More importantly - if you are willing to host a meetup, please let us know. We have lots of ideas, and very few places to put them into action. Each host can put a limit on guests/movies/food/drink/etc at their own discretion. Activities like bowling and laser tag are also fun, and highly encouraged …
Despite the title and focus of this group, you don't have to identify as a feminist or as a man to join. The group is intended for young adults, but EVERYONE IS WELCOME! I created this group with two goals in mind: 1) To bring together like-minded people for fun social events. 2) To discuss and engage each other on the topics of feminism, masculinity, and what it means to "be a man." I cannot accurately describe this group without including some personal background: For most of my life, I did no …

For coffee lovers, we’ll be enjoying our favorite brew while discussing what it means to follow Jesus by looking at …
