Hi,
Our first meeting was on April 16, 2008 to discuss Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth" at Borders in Shrewsbury, MA. We followed Oprah and Eckhart's "Web Event". After completing "A New Earth",
we decided to get together once a month to read and discuss a new book.
We suggest books and vote for "the book of the month" together at the end of each meeting.
The List of Books Discussed in 2008:

April - "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle
May - " …

Hello and Welcome to the Red Line Book Club! (Formerly the Davis Square Book Club). "A book is like a garden carried in the pocket." This is a club where friendly interesting people meet to discuss the books we have all read together. If there is a general theme to the books we read, it's that we read "great" books: enduring classics and new books with lots of potential. You have the entire rest of the world with whom you can discuss Stieg Larsson; here we try to dig at least a little deeper. F …

Calling all female book lovers! What could be better than to to settle in with a good read & share with the group over dinner and drinks. We wine, dine and discuss great novels !! We are a great group of diverse women who have lively discussions about the books we read while enjoying great food and a glass of wine (or whatever your particular poison might be). We m …

My Goal: Is to maintain a book club for men and women who enjoy reading but also want to socialize too, so we will go 'beyond the book' and discuss what we read and more! If you love to read for enjoyment and really want to get out and converse with others, sick of the usual 'woman's group', this could be the book club for you! Please be active within your group, it takes a 'village to maintain a great group'. We will do mostly fiction and some non-fiction too (always open to some majority sugg …

I’m trying to set up a book club. Here’s the criteria: (1) gay men (2) in the Boston area (3) reading fiction (4) and meeting every month or so. I used to be in a book club in the suburbs, with my wife and three other couples. But in 2010, when I came out … I got kicked out! Now I want to start up a new group. Rather than a large group with people participating some times and not others, it would be a small group, maybe 8-10 guys, who are committed to doing the reading and showing up each month. …

V.C. Andrews Book Club, anyone? As a teenager, her books both fascinated and frightened me; Andrews' stories read like horrific fairytales, gritty with no happy endings. While today's YA fiction focuses largely on dystopian societies, Andrews explored taboo subjects of our own society (and quite possibly, of her own strange mind). I think it would interesting to read her books again, in my late twenties, and see if they are still as scandalous and as much of a guilty pleasure as my 12 year old s …

In an effort to create a new kind of book club, this group is dedicated to combining a few wonderful and creative elements: literature, libations, and community. It is my hope that this group can explore a variety of literary works from best sellers to classics as dictated by the group. There seems to be a need for a new book club and one with a new format. No more sitting in large circles with fifteen other people wondering if you should interject your comment or sit back and listen. And no more feeling compelled to struggle through a book that you're not enjoying. Here's how it's going to flow.....There will be a theme.....for example....fiction and memoirs about The Great Depression....and a few recommended books. If you don't like one of the recommendations, then you can ch …
