Are you an avid reader who'd like to get together with other women regularly to discuss books over some fine wine? The aim of this group is to expand our thoughts and perceptions through great discussions about books. We all bring our own experiences, culture, and filters into the perception and understanding of literature, and hopefully these discussions will all enrich us. We'll choose serious fictional and non-fictional books that are fairly recent releases (within the last 20 years for the m …
There are a few other book clubs out there, but not many in the NW corner of the city. I struggled to find one that was just for women and had spots available at their upcoming events. So, I started my own group. I'm also hoping to expand beyond the monthly book discussions. It would be great to meet other women that are interested in dinners, wine tasting, etc. in the city or in the surrounding suburbs. I'm in my mid-30's so I titled the group 30s (ish). If you're age is above or below that …
What better way to start 2012 than to read books set in Chicago! We meet up locally – surrounding Woodridge, Downers Grove, Lisle, Bolingbrook, Naperville, Darien, Lemont area – for the book discussion. Whether it be a café, lounge...what a way to spend a few hours for a book discussion, build friendships, and consume a bite to eat and a drink as well! So join us! :)

These are the voyages of the Western Suburban Science-Fiction Book Club...
Our continuing mission: to seek out the most compelling, discussion-provokin
g science-fiction (and occasionally, fantasy) and gather together to chat about them over dinner. It's a pretty good mission.
Reading sci-fi suggests certain nerdish... leanings, but don't be afraid: our group is all-inclusive. Yes, I'm sure a few of us qualify as geeks, but we're all socially well-adjusted and reasonably freshly showered too. Our …
This bookclub is open to anyone in their 20s. The limit per event is 12 people so that we can have a good, organized discussion and each member is required to pay dues of $5 either via paypal or cash at their first Meetup event (as the organizer I have to pay Meetup to maintain the website so this goes towards that). RSVPs are open for each book selection 2 weeks before the discussion so make sure you've read the book (or are reading it) before you commit to discussing it. At each Meetup we co …

Ours is a book club on the old model: a long-term, ongoing group of women that reads and discusses a variety of books and enjoys great friendships. We're now just over a year old, and while people have come and gone, a core group is in the process of forming. Our meetings are fun, boisterous affairs where lots of interesting and often diverging views are aired. The books we read span a wide spectrum: fiction, biography, non-fiction, classics, etc. We don't read self-help or how-to books, …
The objective of the Big Picture Book Club is to provide a forum for having fun, with friends old and new, while reading and discussing the best, serious, non-fiction books about the Big Picture questions of our history, our time, and our lives. It's focused on books addressing the big questions of human history, science and technology, social and political issues, the future, and how we, as individuals, can flourish and even make a difference in the Big Picture. You can check out an initial l …

Meet fabulous women from Naperville and read good books! We are open to women who live in Naperville. Once a month, we meet for our book discussions, rotating to a different woman's home or a local venue. The genre varies. Women of all backgrounds are welcome. We strive to select books that will provoke a thoughtful and intellectual discussion. Questions are prepared in advance to guide the ~20-minute discussion and everyone is given a chance to voice their thoughts and opinions! Here's a list o …
Every year brings the hottest diet and latest exercise craze. Are they the best or just the most popular? Should we eat a low-carb diet? Buy a juicer? How do we stick with an exercise program for months, or even years? This is no ordinary book club. We are here to explore literature that help us better understand the fitness journey: diet, exercise, motivation, lifestyle. My name is Daniel Lona, and I'm a kettlebell instructor and nutritional coach, and now proud organizer of this unique and …
There are several book clubs out there but they either seem to be disbanding, specialized or for women only so I decided to start this one. I am the former organizer of a large book club in Nashville which, I'm proud to say, is still going strong and I hope to bring that same success to this one. I had the opportunity to read a lot of great books I may not have picked up on my own and I hope to be introduced to even more! This is a co-ed bookclub that will meet once a month, at local coffee sho …

Let's start a book club in Deerfield! I was thinking of meeting once every two months. If anyone is interested, let me know what evenings are good for you. Also let me know what book you would suggest for our first book.
I love to read and would love to belong to a book club. I live in Hyde Park and would like to form a group with people that live in the same general area. We could get together once a month (or every other month) to discuss a chosen book and enjoy each other's company. I'm in my 50's, but it would be great to have members of various ages join the club.
Have you ever wanted to read the books you hear everyone talking about? Here's your chance! Anyone is welcome to this casual monthly book group. Each month, we'll have an informal discussion of that month's selection. Togther we will choose next month's book. Suggestions welcome!
There are no upcoming Meetups.

Hi there! I used to belong to a wonderful, monthly book club, but due to a change in my work schedule, I was no longer able to attend. I decided to create my own. We currently meet on Tuesdays, and alternate meeting each month at 1 pm and 7 pm. Days/times we meet may change, but advanced notice will be given. **Starting in August, we will be meeting Mondays.** The book of the month will be posted at least a couple months in advance. This is not a 'chick-lit' only group. We read a variety …
