Hi! I wanted to join a book club that consistently offered great reads. It was hard to find. I set the goal once for myself to read every book that has won a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. If you are interested in discussing great reads, let's get together.
I am new to Fleming Island and love to read and meet new like minded people. The few book clubs around have a waiting list to join, so I thought, "well why not" start one close to home. I have been in several book clubs through the years and always enjoyed them. I have read some great books that I would not have ordinarily read. Love expanding my horizons as I zip through those pages!
I recently watched the film version of Pride and Prejudice, and enjoyed it so much I started re-reading the book and watching other Austen movies, including Sense and Sensibility and the recent "The Jane Austen Book Club." I thought it might be fun to join up with other Austen fans in Jax, and perhaps structure a Book Club similar to the one in the film.

Meet with other local female book lovers to discuss literature by African-American authors.
We have a different format: each member chooses from a list of ten books, (scroll down under "what's new" on the welcome page to find a link for the current month's book list) and reads his or her chosen book for the upcoming meeting. When we put together the list, we aim for variety. There's always nonfiction covering diverse fields, and interesting old or new fiction. Each member comes ready to discuss his or choice. No two people read the same book? No problem! Everyone read the same book …

I see a problem that I would like to address. Most of us don't have a real understanding about the world of finance and how different financial vehicles work. We may think we do, but some of these books show us a way thinking outside of the box. I would like to find people who would like to become members of this group and discuss what we find out from these books. We will be discussing books that uses creative thinking for investing. i.e. The Tax Free Retirement - written by Patrick Kelly The …
