This is a group for moms (preferably in the 20-40 year old range) interested in meeting monthly to discuss books and share wine & dinner. I want to keep it open and breezy. This is NOT a serious book discussion group. It is more for moms to meet and have something in common to talk about....besides just how cute our kids are;0) I belong to a meetup group just like this one, but for girls without kids. It was so successful and so much fun I thought I would set one up with other moms so my friend …
If you want a book club where we pick a book, have an outlined discussion and only talk about the book, this is not it! Most BOOK clubs are of the "You must read this specific book to hang out with us" variety. Our club, on the other hand, uses whichever title we've picked as more of a jumping-off point and we end up discussing a whole slew of different books, authors, and genres. Sometimes, the subject just goes into an off the wall place. You never know what we end up talking about or doing. T …
[Note: This group is not affiliated in any way with Oprah, Oprah.com, OWN TV or Harpo Studios. We are a group of women and men who are interested, not just in literature, but in self-improvement, exploration, spirituality and the fostering of new friendships. Please feel free to lo …
We are a group of women over 50 who live in the Belmont Shore/Long Beach area that love reading good literature and enjoy making new friends. We meet once each month (generally the second Friday of the month) at a member's home or a location within our community for an afternoon / evening of appetizers, socializing and book discussion. I'm excited with the potential of this group for making new friends - all of who find joy in reading books of all genres, meeting new people and just having fun. …
Well I think the group name does most of the describing, but the goal here is for people relatively the same age, to pick great books, meet up once a month and discuss them. I want to create a casual and fun atmosphere so that like-minded people can get together, meet people out of their circles, and have the intellectual stimulation that's void from so many of the encounters I've had with people out here in LA. We'll pick from a range of books, and meet wherever the group decides. Ideally, we'd …

We'll also schedule occasional MeetUps at museums, concert venues, and restaurants. Whatever strikes our collective fancy.

The Tasty Book Club pairs good books with good food. We read a variety of genres: silly books, smart books, memoirs, literary fiction and, yes, we even once read a book about werewolves. We pair the book with food or countries that appear in the book. If a book takes place in Greece, we eat Greek food. If we read a book that takes place in the American South, we go for BBQ. And so on. We aim for diversity among our book choices. Everyone is welcome to suggest books, but preference is given to b …

Let’s surround ourselves with individuals who aspire to improve themselves or reposition their lives in a positive direction. We all could get caught in the cycle of everyday life and lose focus on our purpose. Whether you are tip-toeing or making giant leaps towards your dreams and/or goals, let’s get together and read about ways to stay focused and progressive. Hopefully, our discussions will encourage, motivate, and support one another on our journeys. Let’s move forward with our dreams, pr …

This meetup is for women of all ages who live in or around the West Hollywood area. The Book Club will take place once a month at a Cafe or Restaurant. The social aspect of the group includes anything from exploring LA, coffee, hiking, small bars, movies, bowling, dining in, dining out, museums, spas, book signings and any thing else that sparks your …

Valley Girls Tuesday Night Book Club is about enjoyable reading for women who want to experience good books--period. Doesn't matter the author, genre or medium. In fact, I would encourage you to try different media when reading. Try a book on CD/tape every once and a while--as long as it's unabridged. Makes those car rides go a lot faster! I'm not a slave to having the author be a woman or it necessarily even about being 'women's issues' (whatever those are) but would like to pick interesti …

Whether you're new to LA or just looking to make some new friends and find new things to read, all bookworms are welcome.

Who says book clubs have to be held at boring old Starbucks? If you'd like to make a commitment to reading more AND you've been dying to try out some of the fabulous bars, restaurants and cute little coffee shops and tea rooms LA has to offer, this is the book club for you! I'm planning on alternating between American classics one month, to modern literature the next to keep a good balance. This book club IS a democracy though, so all suggestions are welcome and will be voted upon!
