We are all avid readers, who read for escape. We pick books from our past and books that are newly release. We read fiction, but books of substance that will spark a good group discussion. Yes, we do meet and talk about the book!! We currently have two groups that meets each month. Our Saturday morning group that meets the 1st Saturday of each month. The Flagstaff Book Society is a monthly book club originally formed under the Northern Arizona Women's Social Group. Membership is open to everyone (men and women) with a desire to read interesting books and talk about them. The Christian women's book club was founded as a book discussion group for Christian women. The book choices will be based on the desires of the group members. Possibilities for selection include Christian novels, popular novels, and interests brought foward by group members. Possibilities of authors include Alcorn, Dekker, Francine Rivers, Perreti and many others. Input on group members favorite authors will is welcomed and encouraged.
A casual bookclub for women and men over 50 who are avid readers and enjoy a rich dialog about what they have just read. I’m looking for a unique blend of folks from diverse backgrounds to read a wide array of genre which will bring a robust conversation to the table. We will meet the last Wednesday evening of the month at Barnes & Noble (W Bell Rd, Peoria, AZ 85382). Barnes has a cafe for animated exchanges while munching on snacks and coffee.
We will meet monthly and read a variety of different books including non-fiction, fiction, and possibly the occasional bibliography. We will meet at member's houses and will be in groups no larger than 6 or 7. I am open to suggestions for books or meeting locations.
