Leadership has come to mean many things to many people and there is no all encompassing theory on what makes good leadership. The terms leadership and management are often used interchangeably and although there is a great deal of overlap they are distinct. As leaders and managers we can only do our best in the situations that present themselves to us. This group will enable us to reflect on current research and writing on aspects of leadership in order to enlighten our own personal situations a …

Leeds needs a book group! Having just moved to the area I can see there is a dirth of groups for book and literature lovers. This must change! I don't read anywhere near enough but a group like this one will get me in the habit once more. I can't find a group like it, so I'm creating one myself. Once-a-month meets, discussions on the wonderful world of literature, and the setting of a book to read after each meet. Come on, come all, and we could make this an awesome group.
Normally meets monthly on the first Monday of the month at the Tame Otter pub in Hopwas at 7p m in the snug. Members discus a book distributed at the previous meeting before moving onto a more general discussion. Once a year members contribute their own writing on widely diverse topics.A few times a year the group arranges theatre visits to Lichfield. A small friendly group with members drawn from the surrounding area. The group name simply reflects where the group meets.
This group is devoted to the reading of one book: Thus Spoke Zarathustra As a group, i would like us to read the first half of the book, discuss it, then go on to read the second half and discuss that. I will be reading the Cambridge edition, translated by Adrian Del Caro, as i like the style; but the Kaufmann and Hollingdale translations are also good (it might be helpful if the group reads the same translation, but it's not essential). I would also definitely recommend finding a readers guide.
